Will paying £20k+ for an MSc from an excellent University make it worthwhile

Will paying £20k+ for an MSc from an excellent University make it worthwhile?
i have a first class IT bachelors degree, and work in a software house that makes Asset management Software. I just got a raise and am now earning £30k. Do you think it's worthwhile spending £20k+ on a part-time Masters degree (say, in Finance?) from a TOP university. Will it truly add value and could i get a return on that investment in a reasonable period?

If it's a well respected finance program, and you plan to go into finance, then yes, it may be worth it. Positions in finance, at the big investment banks, pay WAY more than you are currently making. In the US - it's different in the UK - in the US, you'd make a base salary of about $80,000, with a bonus potential of $120,000+ per year. That'd be about £40k base, £60k bonus. But not all finance jobs are those finance jobs. What do you hope to do with that degree? Research the possibilities in the particular aspect of finance that you hope to enter, and you'll then have a better idea on whether that degree is worth it.
