Best UK MSc Finance Programs

Best UK MSc Finance Programs?
I was accepted into the MSc in Finance programs at LSE, Cass, Manchester Business School, Lancaster, Warwick, and Durham. I would like to know which one provides the best education for price and what has the overall best name value and prestige. I feel LSE is the most known in America, but it is also the most expensive and not ranked highly on places such as Financial Times.

LSE, without a doubt. The reason LSE does'nt show up much in the rankings is as it does 'nt offer an MBA. The rankings in FT/ Guardian/ Times are all MBA rankings. The general consensus is that these should reflect on the MSc Finance as well. Warwick has a solid business school and a strong finance department. Cass has the biggest finance faculty in Eurpoe, has good entry standards and has; perhaps the strongest links with the industry. Its a favourite hunting ground for many I banks in London. The rest are decent places with nothing much to talk of and are rated on par. Finally, it depends on what you want to do after college. No matter the plans, LSE is the place. Its worth the extra buck. Programs in London tend to be very costly. Its 26 K at Imperial. If you want to stay in London; then CASS. But if you want to go back, then Warwick as CASS is not much recognised outside UK. I would rate LSE, CASS, Warwick, Durham, Lancaster , Manchester in order.

Would an MSc in Finance and Investment singificantly improve my job prospects

Would an MSc in Finance and Investment singificantly improve my job prospects?
Hiya, I'm looking to start an MSc in October from Exeter University in Finance and Investment. I'm just wondering if this will improve my job prospects at all given the current state of the economy. Is an MSc generally considered to be a very good thing to do that firms will really take a liking towards? THANK YOU

Hi! Could you please kindly advise on the following. I have received offers both from Imperial Business School and Cass Business School and I do not know which of them to choose... Please, share your opinion since rankings differ one from another a lot. And there is no ranking on MSc Finance at all making my dilemma even harder. Thank you very much in advance!

Job prospects with an MSc in Finance degree

Job prospects with an MSc in Finance degree?
Hi guys ! I am about to study towards an MSc in Finance course at one of UK's top business schools. My question is, what do you think the job prospects upon graduation are (given that the financial sector is in a mess) . I wanted to work as an equity trader, however, I heard that the banks are not recruiting for such positions at the moment. The credit crunch made me thikning about a career in management consulting, yet I don't know if the economic slowdown won't affect such opportuinities as well. Thanks a lot for sharing your views.

I'm going to be in the same boat as you :s It's really hard to predict what it will be like when you graduate, but as far as I know, most management consulting firms want you to have an MBA

The MSc in Finance provides a thorough grounding in the theory and analytical techniques required by finance professionals operating in today’s business environment. It offers students a global perspective on the process of financial decision-making and practical knowledge of the workings of financial markets and the price-setting process. You have a bright future !!
